UPDATE 7: HOTFIXES
0.7.3
Oct 21, 2026
Stability Fixes
- Fixed a crash when the game received a bad packet from a server, or ran out of memory while reading from it. You now see the "Failed to connect to server" screen instead.
Joining & Connecting Fixes
- Joining a server no longer hangs for 20 seconds and then fails when a packet is lost while connecting.
- Fixed a rare failed join when the game renewed its connection certificate at the same moment you joined a server.
- Fewer lag spikes and stalls while friends join and load chunks in a world you host, especially on Wi-Fi and home routers.
- Connections stall less on slow or busy upload connections.
- Connections over IPv6 reach full-size packets sooner.
- On Linux, connections over IPv6 now use full-size packets instead of staying at the minimum size. Linux connections also no longer lose packets after the network reports an outdated size limit.
- Joining a friend's world is more reliable when the host's connection details arrive late.
World Settings Fixes
- The Durability Loss % On Death setting now applies to new worlds with every Inventory Penalty On Death option. Before, it only took effect with Partial Drop.
UI & Quality of Life Fixes
- Featured servers in the server list now show their custom banners. Server images also appear right after the game starts, without a new search or filter change.
Performance Fixes
- World generation uses fewer CPU threads in singleplayer on PCs with 4 processor threads, and on servers with 4, 6 or 7 processor threads. Exploring new terrain causes less lag on these machines.
Server Fixes
- Server owners can send error reports to their own Sentry project with the new
SentryDsnkey inconfig.json. If the key is not set, nothing changes. A blank value turns error reporting off. Singleplayer worlds ignore the key. - The QUIC networking library in the game and server now runs on Linux systems with glibc 2.28 or newer. Before, it needed glibc 2.38.
Modder-Facing Fixes
- The Node Editor now saves whole-number world generation fields as integers. Before, it saved some of them as decimals, but the server expects integers.
- The
Offsetposition provider now accepts decimal values for itsOffsetX,OffsetYandOffsetZfields. - If a server sets
SentryDsn, errors from third-party plugins also go to that Sentry project. This includes plugin load failures, event listener failures, and errors a plugin logs atSEVEREwith a cause.
0.7.2

Stability Fixes
- Fixed a world crash that disconnected every player in the world. It happened when a cave chunk loaded with an old goblin spawn beacon from Update 6 and goblins it had spawned.
- Fixed a crash on Linux in worlds that use RocksDB chunk storage.
Item & Crafting Fixes
- Backpack Upgrade II now crafts at the Goblin Tinkerer's Workbench after you repair the Compressor. It costs 150 Scraps, 10 Spider Silk and 1 Voidtaken Grizzly Hide.
- Backpack Upgrade II no longer needs 100 restored memories.
Modder-Facing Fixes
- The
Zone1_Plains1region instance loads in the released game again.

Joining & Connecting Fixes
- Switching avatar presets no longer drops you into offline mode until you restart the game.
- Joining a world hosted on Windows should no longer time out after 30 seconds just as you enter the world. This affected both LAN joins and joins over the internet.
- If your IP address changes during a session, for example when you switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet, you can now reconnect right away. The server no longer refuses the reconnect as "already logged in".
Stability Fixes
- Fixed a disconnect when you go through a portal while a projectile you fired or threw, such as an arrow or a kunai, is still in flight.
Mod Browser Fixes
- Mods whose creators do not allow in-game downloads now show a disabled Install button with an explanation, instead of failing with a connection error. You can still download these mods directly from CurseForge.
Forgotten Temple Fixes
- Both teleporters in the Forgotten Temple now cost 25 Scraps and a Dubious Assembly to repair. Before, the two teleporters had different repair costs.
- Teleporters in the Forgotten Temple now play a teleport sound when you use them.
NPC Fixes
- Spawn markers no longer fail to spawn large NPCs that have enough room to stand.
Creative Tool Fixes
- On Windows and Linux, the Node Editor now opens from the Creative Tools menu instead of closing right away.
Modder-Facing Fixes
- Spawn markers have a new optional
MaxVerticalSpawnOffsetfield. It sets how far up and down the marker searches for a spawn spot, up to 32 blocks. If you leave it out, it usesMaxDropHeight, so existing markers keep their current range. MaxVerticalSpawnOffsetcannot be lower thanMaxDropHeight, andMaxDropHeightstill limits the final drop for ground movement.- A spawn marker with an invalid search range now logs a warning and is disabled.
